Lying down and staying still is not easy for everyone. Savasana can offer rest, attention or simply a pause without requiring a particular state. Your role is to make choices clear and remain available.

Offer a Route into Rest

You might invite students to notice a few points of contact with their support, while allowing them not to follow. Body-focused attention can sometimes increase discomfort. Looking around the room or choosing a seated position remains valid.

Stay Present Without Filling Every Silence

Explain the approximate duration and available choices before speaking less. Remain attentive and avoid surprising movements. A calm presence may help without guaranteeing that everyone feels safe. Stillness is not a measure of success.

Prepare an Audible, Gradual Return

Use a gentle but understandable voice to announce the end of rest. Offer small movements and a change of position at each person’s pace. There is no universal percentage of a class that must be Savasana; adapt duration to the context.
